My story
I’m Adam Winstanley, founder of ArchFuture Labs, where I’m blending architecture, sustainability, and emerging technologies. With my background in award-winning design, I’m exploring how NFTs, decentralized infrastructure, and web3 can reshape the future of architecture.
My Journey of Innovation and Connection
I’ve always believed that the key to creating a better future lies in blending the old with the new—traditional architecture, sustainability, and cutting-edge technology. Growing up in rural Galloway, the influence of my parents, particularly my father’s architectural practice and my late mother’s spirit, shaped who I am today. Together, my father and I built award-winning homes, most notably The Houl, a carbon-zero project that taught me how architecture could work in harmony with the environment. This connection to sustainability remains central to my work, but I now see it through a more expansive lens. You can see many of the projects we built together in the region and I am working on protecting his work as much as possible.
I founded ArchFuture Labs to explore the intersection of architecture, technology, and art in ways that are meaningful, innovative, and climate-positive. My focus is on integrating NFTs, decentralized infrastructure, and architectural data to build a platform where creators, clients, and communities can collaborate. I believe that by leveraging blockchain technology and decentralized networks, we can rethink how architectural data is shared, stored, and experienced. This project is a startup, and I’m excited to invite others to join me on this journey of discovery and innovation.
With ArchFuture Labs, I’m not just showcasing architectural design; I’m blending it with immersive digital experiences. One of my goals is to host events that combine live performances, NFT minting for local artists, and cutting-edge demos of what’s possible when architecture, art, and technology converge. I believe that by connecting these worlds, we can create new opportunities for people to experience creativity in unexpected ways.
On a more personal note, I’ve been living in Dumfries with my partner, Amy, for the past three years, and life has been wonderful. Amy has three boys, aged 12, 15, and 17, and together we’ve built a happy, outdoorsy life full of positivity in the rural region of Scotland we were both raised. After the passing of my father, I’ve found a new sense of balance and joy with Amy and her boys, and we cherish our time together.
This is the beginning of something big. If you’re inspired by the same questions that drive me—how can we better integrate technology with the environment?
How can architecture evolve to meet the demands of a decentralised future?—I welcome you to join the journey.
Let’s build something extraordinary together, not just for the present but for generations to come.
